My original post was taken down. Potentially due to the ID shown which I have now removed.

I want to preface this in taking accountability in my own actions and not following a safer protocol when I was doing this transaction. His actions are indefensible, but I let my guard down and didn’t think this would happen to me. I know where I went wrong.

I’m located in Canada and cannot attend lady Gaga in Toronto on Sept 13. So I took to TM, SH and Facebook marketplace to sell my tickets. I finally agreed to sell tickets to a guy named Hamza, and everything seemingly checked out at first. Socials were “real” and online presence was pretty visible. We agreed to a zoom call to verify identities and validity. We Zoom and I confirm it really is him, so all good (I attached the background of where he zoom called). Ultimately we agree that I would send one ticket first and he would send full payment and then I would send the other. Which felt like a good comprise instead of either of us comprising fully. I thought to myself “what is he going to with one ticket?” After I send the tickets, he pretends to get my money transfer going and then suddenly disconnects from the call. I come to find out he blocked me from all platforms.

Over the past 24 hours I’ve uncovered a lot about this guy, including the fact that he’s done this to COUNTLESS others and that he even comes from a seemingly good, well off family! It seems this is a pattern of behavior that spans YEARS.

I don’t know what to do as I’m out my ticket and don’t think I’ll ever get it back, but now im looking for some sense of justice. This has never happened to me and I truly never thought it would. Even when everything “checked out” I still got scammed.

I’m now stuck with a single ticket and out $1000 and still can’t attend.. if anyone has any idea if there’s anything I can do, or any leads to how we can get him to face the consequences of his actions. Please let me know. I would be forever grateful.

My final action is to contact local police and start a file on him, but I don’t know how much the police will be able to help me ultimately.

Thank you and I hope this reaches the right people.

I was scammed by a Pakistani “influencer”. Please beware! Seeking advice & Reposting for awareness.
