Replacing onewheel GT motor, get another GT motor or go with GTS? Possible vesc?

Bought a used onewheel GT two years ago which I've been using almost everyday now having a blast. The motor seems to be making wierd noises and just the other night the power cut out. I still want to keep the board and want to replace the motor for a new one. Im 50/50 thinking about going vesc once I get a new motor. Should I go with a new GT motor, or GTS? Wondering if there are any benefits to sticking with a GT motor over a GTS motor?
