[CT] Help interpreting a clause
New agreement effective Sept 1. There is a clause in the new agreement that the “child shall have unhampered contact with off duty parent at 6pm everyday via phone or FaceTime”.
When child calls Parent B from Parents A phone, Parent B will immediately ask the child to call back when home if the child isn’t at home at the time of the call. Then Parent B will continue to message Parent A asking when they will be home to call again. Parent B is stating calls need to happen from home only so the child isn’t distracted with an activity. Child is having unhampered conversations with Parent B even if the child isn’t at home at time of call.
Today at 6pm, child was at an event and called Parent B on phone. Child was excited to show Parent A all around the event and then sat down on a bench and had a conversation with Parent B. After the conversation, Parent B sent several extended messages to Parent A about calls needing to occur from home and asking to call back again when the child is home.
Parent A is planning to take child to fair tomorrow and may not be home by 6pm. In preparation, Parent A suggested a 10am call, so parent B could talk to child at the house based on Parent Bs request to only talk to the child when at home. Parent B denied the new time saying Parent A needs to call at least around 6pm from home.
Parent A feels like parent B is constantly trying to change the rules, make new rules or expand the rules from what is in the new agreement. In addition, from Parent A perspective, feels like Parent B is trying to control Parent As parenting time by demanding Parent A is home/ demanding Parent A to have the child call a second time after returning home.
Child is 5.
