Three Weaves People's Complexion

General

There's a lot of discussions surrounding the new title and where/when it takes place in relation to Three houses (for obvious reasons). Something that I think a lot of people are undervaluing or underestimating is the complexion and attire of various characters

In Three Houses while the cast could vary, the majority of the cast are white. They are all of a whiter complexion which lends to the traditional medieval setting they are based in. Aside from Catherine (for some reason) all of the other darker skinned characters are explicitly not from Fodlan. They are foreigners.

In the new title, a large number of characters are darker. Even Cai, is darker than a large number of the cast of Three Houses. If this were a prequel, where did all the brown people go? Was Fodlan a formerly mixed nation, that got rid of all the brown people after the Nabateans were attacked? Regardless of the ending chosen, Fodlan does become less isolationist. Yet, I doubt that the general populace would change that much.

Dietrich sticks out like a sore thumb next to a lot of the new cast we've seen so far, but he would fit right in Fodlan. Dietrich's armor is also very notably different from everyone else in the cast. From the other characters we've seen they are wearing lighter armor (which fits with the mediterannean vibe) But Dietrich is wearing intricately designed full plate armor. Everything about him screams "I'm not from here."
