Appleby College

Does anyone know how hard is it to get in? Like, had any friends or family that applied and got in? I really want to attend but the 30% acceptance rate is freaking me out. Is it just a strictly relations-based thing (I see a lot of questions asking about relatives and working place on the application) or do they actually care about grades? Would appreciate any advice.
