Did anyone else not understand how to progress Eva's quest?

I was stuck at 99% completion, not knowing what was missing when someone suggested it was Eva's quest. I was missing just the final stage as i got the rest by chance.

did she mention what to do along the way and i just missed it? for those that don't know its using memory lockets to unlock notches.
