The day I accidentally waved back at someone who wasn’t waving at me

You know that awkward moment when you think someone’s waving at you, so you enthusiastically wave back. and then realize it was for the person behind you?

Yeah. That was me today. Except I didn’t just wave I went all in. Full smile, double-hand wave, even threw in a “Hey like we were long-lost besties.

The guy gave me the most confused look and walked right past me. straight into the arms of his actual friend. Meanwhile, I just stood there mid-wave, looking like an inflatable car dealership balloon that lost its will to live.

To make it worse, I tried to play it off by scratching my head except I scratched the wrong side, so it looked even more suspicious. Pretty sure half the street saw.

So yeah, I’ve officially retired from waving forever.
