Hearing aids...

So I'm 45 & have genetic hearing loss which has progressed to the point hearing aids are recommended. I ordered what I thought will be least annoying for me & most complimentary to replacing ear buds....smaller (but not tiny) in-ear because the tiny don't have features important to me.

One thing I noticed with the over the ear demos was how much I am missing sound wise ....I'm wondering how annoying/distracting the extra sound will be once they arrive. Does that annoyance/distraction dissipate over time? Hair moving over the over the ear was a chunk of why I got the in-ear.....
