Gifted

They called me a gifted child. But is it a gift if it only brings me pain? I have long lost the drive and ambition for academics and school. Now it's only a way to prove I still have worth in this wold where all that matters is work and school and intelligence. It's not a gift when it only brings exceptions too high to reach and to far away and disappointment of the once around me once I eventually fail. Like Icarus I've flown too close to the sun and now I can feel the wax burning me as I fall into the end.
