Our dog is driving me crazy

He’s my gfs dog, we’ve been together 4 years. He’s 11 years old. Has cancer. So this might be the cause. But he’s constantly panting. Always. Most of the time I swear he pants for attention. He might be in pain too. I dk.

It’s driving me absolutely insane. And my gf gets mad at me bc I can’t handle the sound. She says he’s just a dog! We have actually gotten in legit arguments about it in the past. Every ex has been the same way. My dad was the same way. No one thinks misophonia is real.

I just made a nice dinner for us. And all I can hear is him panting. I had to cover my ears. My gf asked what was wrong. And I told her. She was cool about it, tried to get him to leave. But he just came back. Still panting…I dk what to do but leave the room.
