6 pin connections for audio routing?
Let me start by saying sorry for being a dumbass. I have a small pedal that doesn't support EXP. My dream is to be able to control 2 of the pots via a 2 axis joystick (mounted elsewhere). Now I know I could just bypass the pedal-side pots completely or wire in switches to change between, but I'm wondering if a switching jack would work for this application as to retain the use of the regular pots if I am not using the joystick. The main problem I'm having is the fact that I want to control 2 pots, and ideally only use one cable and jack to connect the joystick. The problem is that would be 6 (?) connections that would have to go through one cable. I know there are 9 pin switching jacks but I have no idea what 1/4" cable you would use to connect to that, or I'm misunderstanding the application. Is my only option to use a separate switching jack for each pot I want to control? Should I look for a connection system that doesn't involve 1/4" connections? There are other 6 pin connectors and cables (like this cool gx16 aviation connector) I could use if I just add a separate switch. I made this toddler drawing on paint, sorry it's the best I can come up with at the moment. I do solder a bit and have made a basic switching pedal and cables in the past, but I'm in the weeds here. I appreciate any feedback and if I'm posting this in the wrong area I apologize! <3
