What am I missing

Been playing hut ftp for the last 3-4 games now, and I usually am an average player. Records usually a shade over .500, but I've never struggled this much at launch before. Half the time my players will be draped over the puck carrier but theyre totally unfazed, then it seems if I have the puck any defender can breathe and I lose the puck. I can probably count on one hand the number of puck battles my team has won.

I think the game has potential, but I'm obviously missing something to be getting worked this badly so consistently. Any advice would help
