I am unable to preorder the game on switch 2?

When I heard preorders were live I went l to preorder it but it doesn't let me. BUT when I logged into my mom's account on my switch it lets her preorder the game.. am I unable to preorder as I already own the original final fantasy? And am I stupid for buying it about a month ago now that it's a free bonus?
