2.4 cm stable nodule but compressive symptoms

Hi everyone,

I just had my follow-up ultrasound. My right thyroid nodule is now 2.4 cm, TI-RADS 3 (borderline 3–4). Last year it was 2.2 cm, so the report says it’s “stable, follow up in 12 months.”

But I’m really struggling with right-sided symptoms — pressure above my clavicle, dizziness/weakness when lying on my stomach or pressing the area, urge to cough, and discomfort up into my jaw/ear. At various times, the area above my clavicle even gets puffy/swollen, which feels unsettling.

The tech mentioned the nodule is close to my carotid. That makes me nervous, but the report didn’t comment on it.

Has anyone else had compressive or vascular symptoms even when their report said “benign or stable”? Were you able to push for lobectomy or ablation based on symptoms, not just growth?

I can post my report here if that helps, but for now I’m waiting to see what my ENT will say or do. I’m worried they’ll just tell me “see you in a year,” even though my symptoms are real and affecting daily life.

Thanks in advance for any input — I just don’t want to feel crazy for pushing this.
