My UFO sighting, orbs appear to create a craft

I saw two orange/brass/gold colored spheres hovering between me and the nearby mountain. I live in a very small town in the mountains in New Mexico (close to Roswell). These orbs were between me and a mountain that is about 15 miles away. That mountain is about 10,000 feet in elevation, I'm at 8,000 across the valley. So the orbs were lower than 10,000 feet and closer than 15 miles.

They were big enough to see the shape, not just lights in the sky. They looked like spheres, or orbs. They were aligned horizontally.

Both of them blinked off at the same time, then reappeared a few seconds later at a lower elevation, still aligned horizontally. It was night, no way to tell if they were connected to some object or were independent.

Then they blinked off again and now an object with a single blinking red light appeared between where the two orbs were. This object had some kind of structure, hard to tell what in the darkness but the light illuminated something. It then moved off at a very slow pace with the red light at the rear.

It was totally silent. Where I live is rural, no traffic, no streetlights, etc. I can definitely hear any airplane or helicopter at that distance. The impression I got was that the two orbs did something to create the object.
