AIO I’m confused about my career path. I feel guilty for wanting to quit. What do you do when you lose love for your passion?
So in a nutshell, I’ve been tattooing for six years 23 years old and I’m getting tired of it. Tattooing for me has been filled with people pleasing meeting unrealistic standards inconsistency. It came from a place of doubt. I always wanted to be an artist but I never wanted this demanding I have to get up every single day kind of job. I wanted to go to school. I wanted to have a cool job that I was proud of. I have a hobby that I’m proud of, but it’s turned into something that I dread. I’m not happy anymore with it. It’s not fulfilling. Because the whole time I’ve been in adult, I’ve been doing this. I made it my identity, and now that I’m not liking it anymore, I feel like I have no identity. I don’t really know what to do and I am a believer in God, so I know that this is probably a transitional period, but I don’t know what else to do and I don’t know what I’m waiting on. I applied for jobs. I dont know how to apply for school. I don’t wanna be lostlike the rest of my family. Settling for something just because they’re good at it not because they want to do it. A lot of people told me that I’m living in a fairytale, but I’ve seen it. I’ve seen people get exactly what they want and I know that is probably not perfect in their world. But it works for them and they love it. That’s all I want is to love something fully. Everything that I’ve had or has been short-lived in the past this is the only thing that has lasted so long and now I don’t want it anymore. I guess I feel kind of guilty. Like I’m abandoning Something that so many people thought was important. What do you do when you start to grow a hatred for your passion and you don’t know what else to do.?
