Why is Halloween so popular?

Since beginning of September nearly all I see on the subreddit and the trading thread is about Halloween. Since it’s still a bit of time left till actual Halloween I’m guessing it’s gonna be 2 months of items hunting for that topic. I’m really surprised by that, cause I never saw it as that big of a day at least in the countries I’ve lived. Is it that big in your countries? Or is it ‚just‘ that popular in the finch community? Is Christmas gonna be the same, less or more popular? Are there any other holidays/themes I’m missing that are also really big in the finch community sometime in the year?

No judgement whatsoever, just really curious 🫶☺️
