Island Survival / Cast Away / robinson crusoe

I would love to try something like this myself. I know it would be incredibly hard – physically, mentally, and emotionally – but that’s exactly what makes it so powerful. The idea of spending months completely alone, surviving only with the bare essentials, facing both the beauty and the brutality of nature, feels like one of the ultimate life experiences. It’s not about comfort or ease, but about testing yourself, stripping life down to its raw core, and seeing who you truly are when everything else is gone.

I recently watched a video about Xavier Rosset, who spent 300 days alone on Tofua, a remote island in the Pacific. Seeing him survive with just a machete and a Swiss Army knife, building his shelter, fishing, and facing storms and total isolation… it blew my mind.

I know attempting something like this would be incredibly hard. Physically, mentally, emotionally – it’s extreme. But that’s exactly why I want to try it, or at least test myself in that way. The thought of stripping life down to the essentials, facing solitude, and discovering what I’m truly capable of feels like the ultimate life experience.

I’m curious – has anyone here ever attempted something similar? Or can you share tips for testing yourself in extreme isolation and survival conditions safely?

i know it's better to start small, with a few days and build it up,..

Dreaming of 300 days alone on an island… anyone tried something similar?
