So how is the step tracking really?

Help Me Choose 🤔

I have been wondering how everyones experience with the step tracking on amazfit products is. I have been reading about people not getting any steps at home and some information on the amazfit website of how it doesn't track the first 10 steps of an activity and so on. Does it like count steps when your arm doesn't move a lot like when you have your phone in your hand?

Reason is i am looking to buy a smartwatch and can't really decide. I am currently using a Fitbit charge 6 but it's just a fitness band so pretty basic functions and i don't like the fitbit app either.

I am skeptical on the step tracking because used a charge 5 for a long time until i broke it by smacking it against a door and got the Xiaomi Band 9 as a fast cheap replacement but i hated the step tracking on it.
Basically it didn't track any shorter steps i made i had to excessively stomp while walking or swing my hands during a simple walk like a mad man.

I'm kinda torn between something like the upcoming pixel watch or an amazfit watch like the new t-rex 3 pro. Thing is i'm not really a big sports guy i mostly just do my 10k-20k steps of fast walking while maybe playing some gps based phone game while doing so and sometimes some running on a treadmill.
