Visiting Belgrade 24–28 December – worth it?

I’m considering a short trip to Belgrade from 24–28 December and wanted to ask a few things from locals/people who’ve been around that time:

• Is Belgrade lively during those dates, or is it quiet?
• Are shops, cafes, and restaurants mostly open, or should I expect a lot of places closed for holidays?
• Are there Christmas markets/events worth checking out before New Year’s?
• Will there be enough to do (day & nightlife) during those days?
• Would you recommend Belgrade compared to other cities in the region for this period?
