Seeing the leaked Battle Royale gameplay, I was happy that it has its own identity and isn't trying to copy another game.
Before seeing the gameplay, I was a little worried they were trying to steal the Warzone audience—and they will, a large portion, due to Activision's incompetence—and make a "Warzone with environment destruction" rather than a standalone game.
The game isn't as fast as Warzone/Apex, nor is it slow like PUBG, but it has its own characteristics like any game in the franchise (classes, armored vehicles, team play, destruction). Even the license plate system, loot, and missions are much more paced.
This already alienates some people who only play Rebirth Island 24/7 and wanted a similar game, but it also attracts the Battlefield audience and other games.
I don't know if it will be a success, but it has a lot of potential, simply because it wants to be its own thing and not try to be like its competitors.
