Is it bad to take Escitalopram permanently?
27 yo, female, 160 cm, 50 kilograms.
I'll start by saying I had a couple of unproductive years without really knowing why. When I begun contemplating suicide I figured I need to do something about it and threw my last money at psychiatrists appointment and I'm so glad I did - he prescribed me with escitalopram and this medication has helped me SO MUCH.
It has enabled me to finish my degree, to find employment, to be a positive, uplifting force to my friends and SO and to enjoy life again, to sleep again, to go to gym and to take care of myself and my home.
When researching this medication its always said one should only take it for some time until tapering off. But I don't want to go back to the way I was when I'm so much better off now! Is it a necessity to stop this? Will it cause me danger if I continue eating this into perpetuity?
