Tiktok made me do it? Bedsheets edition

No, this isn’t going where you thought it would. I’ve recently been getting a bunch of trad wives on my algorithm (yes half of them are mormon) and there’s some fad on the best bedsheets for every season. I was going through their videos and wanted to put all the info they gave me consolidated in one place. I guess you could call me trad wife coded (a little OCD about my house and really into home maintenance) so I got really invested. Gonna leave some of my own reccs here, all of theirs seemed sponsored, but sifted through the info and fact checked it.

Thread Count: Apparently this isn’t the make or break measure of good sheets we once thought it was??? Thread count always varies according to the material, like the optimal count for cotton is way different than for silk. Lower TC for bamboo cotton (breathability) and higher TC for silk (no snags or holes).

Price Range: you need to be on top of this shit, like if you’re finding silk or linen bed sheets for anything under a 100, you’re getting scammed and its most definitely mostly a blend with acrylic or cotton. If you want pure cotton, go for something like Threadmill’s Luxury. Its 800 TC (keep it under 1000TC for cotton regardless), really breathable and it almost feels like a cooling effect even though there’s none of that cooling gel tech nonsense.

Blends: Blends aren’t always bad and polyester isn’t the big bad wolf of bedsheets necessarily. Its actually preferred for cold winter nights cos there’s no sweat for it to trap which is the main pitfall people complain about. Acrylic blends and polyester also keep things pretty affordable. I’d look at CGK Unlimited’s line in under 50ish dollars. I repeat, it is polyester so you’re getting what you pay for, but its not scratchy. They’re really sturdy so the colour won’t fade after a couple of washes.

High-end Blends: There’s a couple of more expensive blends out there like cotton Sateen or cotton silk that are actually a really good middle ground. Cotton Sateen is really good for that fall autumn transition, when there’s a little chill in the air but you know you’d roast alive in just silk. Also great for anyone whose skin doesn’t react well to silk. Go for something under the 500TC, I’d recc these Pizuna ones, the blend is really soft cos it has a tad more sateen than cotton but it washes just like cotton would, hasslefree.
