Caged
There is light in the cage,
but none for my courage.
The walls have watched me enough,
and the fan whirls endlessly.
I hear its constant whirr,
but no one tends to mine.
Darkness filled the cage,
but not my eyes.
I wish to sleep like the sun
and wake, bright as him.
Through the bars, the trees wave,
clouds shed tears
in his absence.
Darkness left,
but silence persisted.
I urge to see the sky,
but comfort pulls me back.
There is light in the cage,
but none for my courage.
