I don’t think we’re getting anything else from Gerard’s new band “The Mock-Ups”

It’s unfortunate bc the song is a banger but I think this is a one-off song they dug up and we won’t get any others.

Something tells me this song was recorded and initially intended to use on the Umbrella Academy soundtrack for season 1 or 2. It makes sense bc it sounds very stylistically similar to “Here comes the end”, “Hazy Shade of Winter”, “Happy Together”, all of which were recorded with Doug McKean and used for Umbrella Academy. Also because of how repetitive the lyrics are it sounds like it was written with the intent to use it as a theme song for a show.

For one reason or another I think it was scrapped or they decided to go with other songs instead, and now that MCR is making headlines again they wanted to create a new “band” to release it under.
