I can’t see or access my DMS

It shows me that I have notifications but won’t let me access them i was in the middle of a conversation and I just got cut off. I know I wasn’t blocked and have already deleted then re installed the app and restarted my phone but nothing changed. I even tried DMing my friend directly through their account and same problem
