FNAF Lore: The Current Understanding

 

196X-1970

First things first: Fazbear Entertainment. This company was made somewhere in the 1960’s by a guy named William Afton, a smart guy with somewhat great ideas who was married to a woman named Clara. He also made a pizza place called Fredbear’s Family Dinner about a year later with two characters of his: Fredbear and Bonnie.

Note: From the given information, we can assume that Fredbear was an actual bear due to the fact that that type of entertainment was popularized in that era.

But one day, the dinner started to lose its customers to a different dinner. A dinner called Chica’s Party World, owned by a guy named Henry Emily, who had a daughter named Charlotte Emily.

Note: The reason that there’s no ‘Mrs. Emily’ is because there hasn’t been a mention of her yet. Because of this, we can assume that Henry either adopted Charlotte, or Henry is divorced and won custody of Charlotte.

The reason that C.P.W. was getting more traction was because instead of real animals preforming, Henry had robots. Robots that would wear a costume of Chica. A costume that was made by a costume company – Murray’s Costume Mannor.

The company was owned by a guy named Edwin Murray, who was married to a woman named Fiona. And while all that dinner drama was happening, he was in the background making robots of his own. Making coffee makers that learn your taste, coat hangers that adjust to the size of your coat, and the Roomba… but butler.

Along with making all these machines, he and his wife also made many characters, like: First- Mate Foxy, Roxanne Wolf, Montgomery Gator, Happy Frog, Mr. Hippo, Helpy, and many more.

Note: Happy Frog and Mr. Hippo were part of a group of animatronics called The Mediocre Melodies. They were originally just designed by Fiona, but from the in-game logs, it seems that a guy named Stan had stolen the design, turned them into animatronics, and sold them as seen in Pizzeria Simulator.

But their biggest achievements were the inventions of the Springlock Suits, a suit that can be worn by man and machine, and The Mimic, an endoskeleton that can fit any costume. Though, by at this time, The Mimic was mostly a personal side-project.

A few years later, Fazbear’s & Chica’s merge, though still under the name of Fazbear Entertainment, they make it work. First buying two Springlock Suits from Edwin himself, using them to replace the bear, and teaming up with Edwin to make a sister location called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which would be surprisingly technological for that era having the animatronics move around day and night with the AI of a later time.

Note: Due to the rushed work of making the suit, the suits would stab you from all sides even if you breathe a bit too hard. Please keep this note in mind.

Along with that, William Afton also began to make robots with Henry, making the animatronics for Fazbear’s like a brown Freddy and a blue Bonnie, along with Chica and Foxy.

For everyone, all was well. William had a son named Mike along with another child on the way, Edwin had a son named David, and Henry had good business. It was safe to say that life was good.

Until 1970, Fall Fest.

Note A: There was a fan-theory that stated Fall Fest was a Fazbear event due to it being one in Help Wanted. But since that game was an in-universe VR game made to shine light on the brand, with having lied to the player many times (as told by Tape Girl), we can’t really trust them.

Note B: Edwin actually made some rides that look like they were made for Fall Fest, but they were rushed. Keep this in mind when I tell you what happened next.

Edwin, Fiona, and David were all at Fall Fest having a grand old time. Edwin was happy, seeing his kid laugh, it must’ve been little David’s happiest day. But on that faithful festival – BANG! One of the rides broke and set ablaze. The fire spread across the entire festival, every ride combusting one after the other. Not everyone made it out alive… with Fiona being one of them.

As the sun set and the flames settled, Edwin and David stood there watching the place burn. But now, Fiona wasn’t there with them.
