Hoping For Someone Else To Test Auto Axe

One thing I noticed since the last update, was that my auto axe does far higher numbers against enemies like Buttercup at the end of the Expedition, than anywhere else. I can't remember what the other enemy was that it does that with, but, which number is right? The numbers spinning off Buttercup, look like the numbers I can see in my pip boy, but, when I go to fight, like supermutants for instance, the number is suddenly far lower than the listed damage number in my pip boy. Like against buttercup, i'm seeing numbers like between 100-200 (depending on temp buffs). The 100-200 is closer the the base damage number I have in my pip boy for the weapon. When I'm using the same weapon against mutants or whoever, it's like 40-70? Can someone else test this & see if they have the same result? Is there something I'm not thinking of or missing?
