Shiny hunting larvitar

Hey all! Decided to try my hand at shiny hunting in HGSS for the first time and am gonna go for larvitar. I have 7 badges and am still finishing the main game. I was wondering is it best to hunt w random encounters in the safari zone or through eggs/the masuda method?

Obviously both methods are gonna take time, just curious if yall have had better luck w certain methods lol
