Erika Kirk: I forgive him

Charlie Kirk's wife Erika spoke in her husband memorial:

He always asked me the most beautiful question: Please let me know how I can better serve you as a husband. Charlie perfectly understood God's role for a Christian husband: a man who leads so that they can serve.

She challenged all men:

Be strong and courageous for your family. Love your wives and lead them. Love your children and protect them. Be the spiritual head of your home, but please be a leader worth following. Your wife is not your servant. She is your helper. You are not rivals. You are one flesh working out for the glory of God.

She continued:

On the cross, our Savior said, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."

In tears, she said:

That man, that young man, I forgive him.

That's the single most powerful healing statement that I have heard since the news of the assassination.

That's what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer from the gospel is love and always love.

Amen, sister!

Charlie and I were united in purpose. His passion was my passion, and now his mission is my mission.

Following her husband's death, she was unanimously elected by TPUSA’s board to succeed her late husband. I think she would do a better CEO than her husband :)

Yes, campus events will continue, and we will continue to hold debates and dialogues. … When we lose the ability and the willingness to communicate, we get violence.

She was determined.

Choose prayer. Choose courage. Choose beauty. Choose adventure. Choose family. Choose a life of faith. Most importantly, choose Christ.

Amen and amen, preach it, sister!
