does my school favourite white people or is it just me?
i don’t really know what sub to post this in so redirect me if needed
i have been quite mentally unwell for a long time and two years ago, my mum contacted my school so they could help. they got someone from staff to talk to me during a tutorial period once, and they asked if i wanted a mentor. it genuinely took everything in me to say yes. i never heard from my school again and everything was forgotten. i know this happens in a lot of schools, but i did have some hope. my mental health has only declined from there.
two years later, my big friend group have had a falling out (which i saw coming) but also sadly resulted in me losing some close friends, which i didn’t want to happen. i am then pulled aside by my tutor telling me that whatever has happened in my friend group is impacting the people i’ve fallen out with (i have no idea why only i am being told as all of my friends were involved) and i find out my old friend is having a mentor to help with the situation. i am also being told this is mostly my doing (i never even got to speak about the situation before i was essentially blamed). seems important to say here that i am the only dark skinned person in this friend group.
im just very confused? i am not directly blaming anyone yet as im not sure. i would like to think it was a one time thing where they just forgot about me because of some random reason, not because of the colour of my skin, but my friends that are also pocs have also encountered things similar to this happening at my school, which is predominantly white.
i understand that this is not the whole story and a bit more context might be needed, but i would just like to hear opinions on what others think! no advice if that’s okay just need an outsider’s perspective <3
