Using both laundry boosters and fabric conditioner

I have been using a mix of enzyme detergent, washing soda, borax and sodium percarbonate as a laundry booster and finishing it off with citric acid in lieu of fabric conditioner. I've convinced my partner to try out the mix but he still prefers using fabric conditioner for his load though. Is his method still going to give the laundry boosters any justice?
