3 Weeks In: Perspective Over Panic.

Discussion

Im a F2P player & I’ve seen some of the comments on the game & 3ku being paywalled & etc. & while I do agree on what the voices & concerns are for the gameI will say, Some of y’all need to chill. this game has been out three weeks and we are already stating remarks like “it’s dead,” “it won’t last to see X,” “Bandai’s ruining it.” That’s ridiculous.

Look at the track record of mobile games for Bandai that are dragon ball oriented so far. Dokkan & Legends. For the first year of both games, every time a monetization wall showed up, people spammed the exact same doomsday takes. Yet those games are still alive years later because Bandai runs them like machines. Why is that? Because You(Myself included) do not dictate lifespan of a game as long as its bringing in money because as f2p players, we don’t even fund the product. Revenue does.

Now, is locking hype characters behind paywalls stupid? Yeah. But instead of parroting “game’s gonna die” after it not even being out globally no longer than 2 months? Push for a solution in the subs or ratings or the surveys that’ll be available in the future. In my opinion, there should be an event-based grind system in the events tab. Make it difficult, not a freebie, but let players unlock premium units through effort. That’s the middle ground between monetization and accessibility.

Bottom line: this isn’t the apocalypse of Gekishin Squadra. Unfortunately, it does make a lot of us unhappy. Including myself as im a F2P player but it looks to be literally the first monetization test. Either voice constructive fixes on the surveys, twitter comments or ratings or just accept it. That way, they we can stop writing the eulogy of a game that isn’t even a month old. That’s not foresight, it’s just the same thing I’ve seen over & over again.
