My boyfriend made an off-putting comment after watching Spider-man

My boyfriend (26M) and I (26F) were sitting in the car post-movie, debriefing and talking about how good Spider-Man (2002) is. But then he started talking about the scene where MJ and was chased and nearly assaulted in the alley by multiple men.

He said “this is why I don’t take what happened to you seriously”, implying that what happened to MJ is how he views rape/assault. For context, there was an incident where he kept going after I said no. I kinda just froze. Like, what am I even supposed to say to that? I felt sick and embarrassed.

I’m trying so hard to move past that incident but he’s making it impossible. He asks for reassurance every fucking day that what he did was okay and that it was just a big misunderstanding. He gets angry at me for wanting to have serious conversations about it but then says shit like that.

I know this post is pathetic but I have nobody to talk to about this. I feel like I’m going mental.
