Is it worth appealing a discontinuance due to denial of probation?

I was discontinued from my district at the end of the previous school year because I didn’t pass probation. The principal kept giving me low ratings even though I tried everything exactly how I was advised. He seemed to have an agenda and wanted to remove all new teacher to replace them with senior teachers. More than 5 teachers didn’t return this year.

I keep reading comments from discontinued teachers saying that appealing “is a waste of time”, “they take forever and never it’s in one’s favor,” etc.

What do you guys think? Is it worthy? If so, what are the first steps?
