Dead Knob and Tube or is it?

Electricians are removing knob and tube from my house. They said all the old wiring was terminated. I put a voltage tester up against a couple of the wires and some showed they were live, but the power was turned off. Just looking for a reason it would go off. The wires were all running parallel.
