Contract ends in March. When should I start applying?

I work in a school setting and the school year ends in May. Been working in the academe for about 15 years; I don't want to renew anymore. Now, I want to shift to corpo or dev sector. I am not so familiar with how long application starts hehe I have my resume ready na :)
