KVM switch issue: Laptop won’t display on 2nd monitor

I’m having trouble with my KVM switch setup. • I have two HDMI monitors. • I use a KVM switch to swap between a gaming PC and a work laptop.

Connections: • Gaming PC → KVM • DisplayPort to HDMI cable • HDMI to HDMI cable • Both monitors work fine. • Laptop dock (Dell) → KVM • HDMI to HDMI cable (works fine) • Active DisplayPort to HDMI cable (with additional USB for power) → KVM (does not display anything)

Other details: • Keyboard, mouse, mic, and speakers all work correctly through the KVM. • The issue only occurs with the laptop’s second monitor connection through DisplayPort to HDMI. • The gaming PC works fine with both monitors, so the KVM itself seems to be functioning.

Question: • Is this likely a compatibility issue between the dock, KVM, and cable? • Do I need a different type of active adapter/cable for this to work?
