Golf etiquette
Small rant, but I need to get this out somewhere. With the stuff coming out of the Ryder Cup, does anyone else feel like golf etiquette is at an all time low? I have been playing since I was 7 and have worked at a golf course for a combined 9 years and I feel like the state of the game is declining. I love that the game is growing and that more people are playing. I love that it is taking a little more of a casual vibe, but I can't help but hate some of the things that I have been seeing at the Ryder Cup and on the course. People playing their music so loud you can hear it on the next hole, pace of play declining because people need to use a ranger finder on every single shot. Then you have the talking in back swings, walking in putting lines, at my course even the caddies are getting lazy and you just see a general lack of respect across the course. Golf should be a fun game, but I miss how it was when I was growing up. I know this is such a "back in my day" cranky old man type of post, but I hate where this game is going some times, and the Ryder Cup has been a display of all of it (on the US side).
