My 2024 Kia EV9 Wind — from love to lemon law?

Discussion/Impressions

Let me share the rollercoaster story of my 2024 EV9 Wind (a car I still love… but am starting to fall out of love with).

Bought in May 2024. Smooth sailing for months, until we got hit with the infamous “turtle” mode a few times while driving the family (I posted about it here). Then one day it completely bricked in the parking lot of my kids’ summer camp. Had to put it in neutral and get help pushing it out of the way.

Flatbed #1. Dealer diagnosed it as a failed electrical harness. Took two weeks, but they fixed it. After that, no issues for the rest of 2024.

Fall 2025. Out of nowhere, I get a critical EV battery warning. Back on the flatbed it goes. Dealer says it needs a full battery replacement — cost covered under warranty (around $70K+ 😳). Two weeks later, I get it back.

Two days later. Brand new warning: “Refill battery coolant.” Just dropped it off again using the overnight service box, hoping it’s a quick fix.

At this point, if it’s not something minor, I think it’s time to start looking into Florida’s Lemon Law and see if Kia will replace the vehicle.

I still love the design, comfort, and features of the EV9 — but man, the issues are making it hard to keep the faith.
