How do y'all wind your watch?

I was told a good morning jerk is all you need to get it going, but it's weird using my left hand. Is it okay to put it on my right hand to wind it?

Also my dad who gifted it to me for getting my GED at 34 suggested it's faster if you wind it on someone else. It's a real rolex he got while on a business trip to China.
