First time at Lolla - Please advise

I will be attending with my wife. Going only for LP. My first time at lollapalooza or for that matter a concert. What should be our plan for the day.

Arrival time ? Things to do before LP concert? Will the front row standing be very uncomfortable? What to carry and not carry?
