Turning 20 soon, how do I navigate dating/friendships with my condition?
Hi everyone,
First of all sorry if am choosing wrong flair for my post.
Hello everyone I’m turning 20 soon and I’ve been reflecting a lot about life in my twenties. I wanted to get some honest opinions and advice from people here.
A bit about me: I have a physical disability that affects my mobility. I need assistance for daily things and I mostly spend time indoors. Because of this, I don’t really have IRL friends, and most of my interactions happen online.
I also struggle with anxiety. When I talk to girls, I often don’t know how to keep it “normal” either I make them like sisters, or I become a “shadow ghost” where they only reply if I message them first. I honestly don’t know how dating even works in practice. how people know when it’s right, or how the connection builds naturally. And what can help me for dating or in friendships like how I get to know or talk with girls, because i know online is only and last option. Also online videos gave me fear of dating like i am not worthy for dating.
Right now, I feel a mix of curiosity and doubt. I don’t expect miracles, but I also don’t want to fool myself. At the same time, I’m not sure whether I should focus only on building friendships or if I should still try to learn about dating slowly, in my own way.
So I’m asking people here: • How did you navigate dating/friendships in your early twenties? • What would you advise someone like me to focus on? • Is it okay if I just move at my own pace and see what life brings? •. Or is just give up for dating and I live my life with anime, music, Drawings, my YouTube channels? Any perspective, advice, or even personal experiences would mean a lot.
Thanks for reading 🙏
