Simplicity 8579 stays question

I'm currently making my stays and I'm getting close to adding the twill tape for the shoulder straps, however.. I can't find extra large hooks and eyes anywhere locally. My local Michaels only sells the regular smaller sized ones, which I already have. I'm in Canada and we don't have Hobby Lobby or Joanns here. My local Fabricville closed years ago and I don't want to place an order on their site for one $4 item because the shipping is literally more than the cost of the hooks and eyes 😩 We really don't have any other fabric stores where I live, other than just upholstery.

Has anyone used a different method of attaching their twill tape? I was thinking of using D rings or jump rings for the back and using either multiple small hooks or buttons to attach them to the front. I know the point of the hooks in the front is to make the straps adjustable so I'm open to any suggestions!

This is literally my first time making stays and this is the only part that's really stumping me 😅
