I don’t understand Fulham not getting a penalty against Villa in the first half of their game.
King takes a shot in the box and Cash goes the wrong way and ends up stopping it with his trailing hand, a couple feet behind him.
The ball was going in the goal but was stopped by a players hand. The player was 2x their body length because of the arm extension.
If you make your body 2x as big and stop a ball that’s going in with your hand, that’s a pen intentional or not.
Not giving the pen is punishing the shooter, who did well and fair, for the defenders poor technique and mistake.
I’m not saying I’m right or wrong, just something I feel like I never used to see in football. I can’t imagine being on Sunday league pitch and someone trying to tell me that wasn’t handball lol. Everyone would know it was.
