We’re not getting our drivers license at 17

I just called the customer service center of traffic department and they told me that the law regarding a driving license for a light vehicle is not being changed and everything in the media is cap and that it’s gonna stay at 17 and a half for a file and 18 years old for the full drivers license

Many of us believed that the age would change to 17 years old because of the “uae legislation Federal Decree-Law On Traffic Regulation” article 10 law which states

“Requirements for Issuance of Driving Licences The following conditions shall be met to issue a Driving Licence:

1. A natural person reaching the age of (17) Seventeen Gregorian years of age.”

I believe that “driving licenses” includes a motorcycle license which is already 17 years old, it was never specified that It’d be a light vehicle license or anything so I guess were cooked and we’re waiting till 2026 to get our licenses 💔🥀
