how to stop spotify from playing on my phone when i get OUT of my car

Obvious question.. I only see people complaining about spotify autoplaying when they get IN their cars. I have the opposite issue and I can’t find any answers to this. When I get OUT of my car on several occasions my iphone continues playing music and I have to open spotify only for it to crash so it stops. It takes 2-3mins so it’s actually annoying having music playing when I’m out and about. I don’t want to be blasting my music outside. My car does not have apple carplay. It’s just the spotify app available that connects or bluetooth. I’ve tried looking into settings but nothing seems to work.
