Could Apple Watch ever support “air typing” with just motion sensors?

App

I’ve been thinking about whether the Apple Watch could handle a different kind of input. Right now it’s basically scribble, dictation, or preset replies. But since it already has an accelerometer and gyroscope, it seems like it should be able to pick up wrist and finger motions and turn them into letters or quick commands.

The idea is “air typing” — moving your wrist in small patterns, and an AI model translates that motion into text. Similar to what Meta is doing with their neural band, but only using the sensors already inside the Watch SE.

Do you think this is technically realistic, and more importantly, would you actually use it if it worked? Or would you stick with Siri and dictation?
