AITA for going out as a white woman with cornrows and big hoop earrings despite the objections of my mom and sister ?

I'm (20f) a white American woman and my boyfriend, who we'll call Kyle (22m), is a Black American man. I'm unmistakely white as I have blonde hair, blue eyes, freckles, and a big hook nose with a bump. Kyle is traditionally masculine in most ways but he had always had the desire to dress up his girlfriend.

Yesterday morning, he gave up cornrows. He gave me big silver hoop earrings, and put red lipstick on me with no other makeup. He dressed me in a white tank top, blue jeans, an a big silver chain necklace.

My mom (47f) and my sister (23f) both gave me compliments when they saw me. Kyle wasn't in the room at the time. But their mood changed when I said that Kyle and I are going out to a restaurant to meet some friends. For context, we live in a very liberal US city in a very liberal US state. My sister expressed concern that people would take it the wrong way if I left the house looking like that. She said it can come off as mocking. My mom agreed. I was confused and I didn't know what to say. Kyle came back in the room and everyone clammed up. I left with Kyle to meet my friends.

I was to meet my friends at a restaurant that has an outdoor and indoor section. We were to be part of the outdoor section. People did indeed look at me. It's hard to judge for every specific individual why they were looking. My friends gave me a long look before being all warm and family. The only non-white friend, who we'll call Cindy (21f), was the 1st to compliment my look.

Today, I feel conflicted. I hope nobody thought I was mocking anyone. I just wasn't thinking. It felt intimate and special that I was the only girlfriend Kyle got to dress up, and I liked the way he looked at me while doing it and after it was done. I didn't think about anyone else. By the way, I still have the cornrows. Am I the asshole ?
