Queen Mantis was the first project I watched with Go Hyun Jung and oh my God, if that's not a banger of an introduction, I don't know what it is.

There was not a single episode in which I wouldn't be captivated by her acting. Her movements, her maneuvers, her voice's tone, her expressions, her actions, everything embodied I Sin's personality and character perfectly. Hyun Jung did not just portray I Sin. She **became** I Sin.

My favourite aspect about her acting was the way she conveyed I Sin's emotions through her facial expressions. Just by observing her micro expressions or her eyes, you could tell what I Sin was feeling. I Sin herself is one of the most complex female characters I've encountered so far and there are so many layers about her personality. Portraying her could be a challenging job but Hyun Jung did it so effortlessly.

Hyun Jung's performance did a great job in humanizing I Sin. She wasn't just a mere monster who killed people for pleasure. She was an abused woman who became a vigilante by punishing other abusers since police was unable to protect the victims. In her own twisted way, she wanted to serve justice and she never regretted her crimes. But underneath the veil of a cold-hearted serial killer, there was a woman who had experienced so much abuse. And on top of that, I Sin was also a mother who did everything possible in order to protect her son.

The scene where I Sin finally breaks down, brought me in tears alongside with her. I cried so much. After suppressing her emotions for so many years and after hiding behind the facade of a nonchalant murderer, I Sin finally let herself express her sorrow and pain. There are no words to do justice for Hyun Jung's acting, that was a textbook definition of a masterclass performance and I'll stand by this hill no matter what.

If you haven't watched Queen Mantis yet, please do so, for Hyun Jung's acting is enough to sit through 8 episodes. She is without a doubt one of the best aspects in this series and when the plot started declining in the middle, she carried it by herself.

It will be a heinous crime if she won't be recognized for this role. I am aware of the fact that her name has been kinda blacklisted after her divorce but if the voters will not acknowledge her talent, they can honestly go to hell and take their biases with them.

Go Hyun Jung, I wasn't familiar with your game but I'm grateful for getting introduced to you.

After finishing Queen Mantis, I officially launch my campaign to get Go Hyun Jung her Baeksang Award
